COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Education (M.Ed.) program offers a wide range of specialized majors designed to prepare educators for leadership roles, advanced teaching positions, and certification across multiple grade levels and subject areas. The program includes Educational Technology, Reading Education, Elementary Education, Secondary Education, and Special Education, along with numerous targeted concentrations and certification pathways. These options allow students to focus on areas such as early childhood education, bilingual and ESL instruction, gifted and advanced education, subject-specific teaching, and educational technology integration.Within Elementary Education, students can choose from multiple certification routes, including core subjects for grades four through eight, English Language Arts and Reading, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies, as well as bilingual and ESL-focused certifications. Specialized pathways such as Early Childhood Education and Teacher Fellows provide additional professional development opportunities. Reading Education includes a Reading Specialist concentration that prepares educators for advanced literacy instruction and certification.Secondary Education offers concentrations in educational technology, creativity and gifted education, advanced academics, and teacher recruitment, with some options available online or through distance education. Special Education includes concentrations such as Autism/Applied Behavior Analysis, Behavioral Disorders/Positive Behavior Supports, Learning Disabilities/Inclusion, and other focused certification tracks. Overall, the program is designed to equip educators with advanced instructional skills, specialized knowledge, and certification readiness to meet diverse student needs across educational settings.
