COURSE CURRICULUM

The M.A. in Geography program is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills required to address real-world problems related to geography. The program requires the completion of 33 credit hours, which include core courses, skill-based subjects, and electives in one of four specialization areas: general geography, resource and environmental studies, geographic information science, or geographic education, with the education track offered fully online. Students develop analytical, technical, and problem-solving abilities that can be applied in various professional fields. The program follows a non-thesis structure and does not include a minor, but it requires students to complete a research paper as part of the degree. It is offered at the San Marcos campus and provides a comprehensive learning experience focused on practical application and research-based understanding.
