COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Arts (M.A.) program includes several majors focused on education, teaching, and student success, designed to prepare graduates for instructional and leadership roles in schools and postsecondary settings. One major is Postsecondary Student Success in Learning, Literacy, and Mathematics, which includes concentrations in Developmental Mathematics, Learning Support, and Literacy. These pathways prepare educators and specialists to support college students in foundational academic skills, including reading, writing, and mathematics, as well as broader academic success strategies.The program also offers majors in Elementary Education and Secondary Education, each with specialized concentrations. Elementary Education includes Early Childhood Education, Creativity, Talent and Transformation, and Bilingual/Bicultural education, preparing teachers to work with young and diverse learners. Secondary Education includes a Creativity, Talent, and Transformation concentration, focusing on innovative and student-centered teaching approaches for adolescent learners. Overall, the program is designed to develop strong instructional skills, educational leadership abilities, and specialized knowledge to improve learning outcomes across different educational levels and student populations.
