COURSE CURRICULUM

The Geography degree plan at Texas State University is carefully structured over four years (120 credits) to build both foundational knowledge and advanced technical skills in a gradual, logical progression. In the freshman year, students primarily focus on general education courses such as communication, mathematics, science, history, and government, which are essential for developing basic academic skills. The inclusion of ENG 3303 (technical or business writing) highlights the importance of communication skills in professional settings. Students also continue progressing in their chosen minor, strengthening their interdisciplinary profile.By the senior year, students are expected to apply their accumulated knowledge through advanced courses like GEO 4321 and GEO 4338, along with electives and minor coursework.
