COURSE CURRICULUM

Graduates of the engineering program go on to work with a wide range of leading organizations across industries such as aerospace, manufacturing, energy, consulting, and technology. Employers include major companies and institutions such as Amazon, Lockheed Martin, NASA, GE Aerospace, General Dynamics Electric Boat, Pratt & Whitney, and Cummins Inc., among many others. These placements demonstrate the strong industry connections and career readiness of graduates. In terms of employment distribution, approximately 85 percent of graduates secure positions within the United States, while 15 percent work internationally. Within the U.S., job locations are diverse, with about 29 percent employed in Syracuse and Central New York, 12 percent in the New York City metropolitan area, and smaller percentages in major hubs such as Boston, Los Angeles, the San Francisco Bay Area, and Texas, while nearly half are spread across other regions. Graduates pursue a wide variety of roles, reflecting the program’s versatility and technical depth. Common job titles include aerospace or mechanical engineer, design engineer, process engineer, project engineer, and research and development engineer, as well as roles in consulting, compliance, logistics, and product development. Additional positions such as control engineer, modeling and simulation engineer, and systems engineer highlight opportunities in advanced and specialized fields. Some graduates also take on research-oriented roles, including postdoctoral research assistant positions, while others move into managerial or coordination roles such as project manager or engineering coordinator. Overall, the broad range of employers, geographic distribution, and job roles highlights the program’s effectiveness in preparing graduates for successful and diverse careers in engineering and related industries across both national and global markets.
