COURSE CURRICULUM

Saint Louis University’s Master of Science in Project Management program is a comprehensive 33-credit curriculum designed to develop advanced project management expertise over two years. The program balances foundational knowledge, practical skills, and research to prepare students for leadership roles in diverse industries. In the first fall semester, students complete 9 credits with courses on Project Management Principles, Project Selection and Initiation, and Information Systems Strategy and Management. This initial coursework prepares students to understand the full project lifecycle and the strategic role of project management within enterprises.The spring semester is more intensive, totaling 13 credits, and covers Planning Projects, Applied Analytics & Methods I, Project Execution and Delivery, and Ethical, Evidence-Based Decision Making. Students also begin their Project Management Master’s Project, which spans multiple semesters. This term focuses on developing detailed project plans, applying analytical methods to support decision-making, managing project delivery, and integrating ethics into leadership practices. These skills are critical for managing complex projects while maintaining integrity and accountability.In the second year, the fall semester includes 11 credits covering Visualization, Feedback and Dissemination, Enterprise Architecture and Systems Infrastructure, Agile Project Management, and further work on the Master’s Project. This advanced coursework introduces students to data visualization techniques for project communication, enterprise IT infrastructure concepts, and agile methodologies, which are increasingly vital in today’s fast-paced project environments.
