COURSE CURRICULUM

Saint Louis University’s Master of Science in Analytics program is a 33-credit, two-year curriculum designed to build strong analytical, technical, and decision-making skills. In Year One, students begin in the fall with a 16-week course, AA 5050 Programming & Problem Solving (3 credits), which spans both Fall 1 and Fall 2 terms. During Fall 1, they take AA 5221 Applied Analytics & Methods I (3 credits), followed in Fall 2 by either AA 5222 Applied Analytics & Methods II: Survey Approaches or AA 5223 Applied Analytics & Methods II: Experimental Approaches (3 credits), totaling 9 credits in the fall. In the spring, students enroll in AA 5000 Foundations of Analytics and AA 5200 Visualization, Feedback and Dissemination (3 credits each) during Spring 1. Spring 2 includes AA 5100 Information Retrieval and ORLD 5050 Ethical, Evidence-Based Decision Making (3 credits each), totaling 12 credits for the spring semester. In Year Two, Fall 1 includes a choice between AA 5300 Advanced Analytics or ORLD 5700 Advanced Evidence-Based Decision Making (3 credits), along with AA 5800 Simulation and Modeling (3 credits). Fall 2 features AA 5750 Contemporary Issues in Analytics (3 credits), totaling 9 credits for the fall. In the final spring semester, students complete AA 5960 Master’s Research Project, a 16-week capstone course (3 credits) that integrates prior learning into a practical, comprehensive project. The program structure emphasizes flexibility through eight-week terms and offers options for specialization through elective courses or graduate certificates. This plan of study supports the development of advanced skills in data analysis, visualization, ethical decision-making, and real-world application, making it ideal for working professionals and international students seeking to advance their careers in analytics.
