COURSE CURRICULUM

The Mathematics/Computer Science major at St. Joseph's University, New York requires a structured curriculum of 48 credits that combines mathematical theory with computer science applications. Of these, 39 credits are dedicated to required courses that build a strong analytical and technical foundation. Students complete key mathematics courses such as Mathematical Foundations of Computer Science, Calculus I and II, Probability and Statistics, and Linear Algebra, which develop problem-solving, quantitative reasoning, and data analysis skills.The computer science component includes courses like Computer Science: An Overview, Computer Programming, Algorithms and Data Structures, Software Engineering and Methodology, and Computer Organization and Assembly Language. Students also study Operating Systems and Advanced Computer Programming, gaining deeper knowledge of system-level processes and advanced coding techniques.
