COURSE CURRICULUM

The MBA in International Business at Southeast Missouri State University is designed to prepare students for leadership roles in the global marketplace by combining core business administration training with specialized international business knowledge. The program begins with a strong foundation of core MBA courses that develop essential managerial, analytical, and strategic skills. These include Organizational Behavior in Practice, which focuses on leadership and workplace dynamics; Quantitative and Qualitative Research Methods, which builds data analysis and decision-making skills; Integrated Decision Information Systems, which explores how technology supports business operations; Strategic Decision Making and Strategic Marketing, which emphasize long-term planning and competitive strategy; Strategic Cost Analysis and Financial Applications, which strengthens financial interpretation and cost management; and The Financial Environment, which provides insight into global financial systems and economic influences on organizations. Together, these courses ensure students gain a broad and integrated understanding of business operations.After completing the core curriculum, students focus on the International Business option, which develops expertise in managing business across borders. Students select coursework from areas such as International Perspectives on Accounting, International Economics, and International Finance, which provide insight into global financial systems, trade patterns, and accounting practices across countries. Additional specialization courses may include International Business Strategies, International Business Law, International Healthcare Administration, International Management, and International Marketing, allowing students to tailor their studies based on career interests in global business environments. An Applied Research Project option further strengthens practical learning by allowing students to address real-world international business challenges through research and analysis.To complete the degree, students must pass either a comprehensive examination or an oral examination as determined by the program. Overall, this MBA equips graduates with the strategic, financial, and cultural knowledge needed to succeed in multinational corporations, consulting firms, government agencies, and international organizations, preparing them to lead effectively in an increasingly interconnected global economy.
