COURSE CURRICULUM

The B.S. in Physics curriculum is built around a strong core of physics, chemistry, mathematics, and research-oriented courses that develop both theoretical understanding and practical skills. Students begin with foundational requirements such as General Physics I and II, Modern Physics, Mechanics, and Electromagnetics, alongside Experimental Methods to gain hands-on laboratory experience. Seminar courses and Undergraduate Research components further emphasize scientific communication and independent investigation, allowing students to engage directly in research projects. In addition to the core, students choose an advising track that aligns with their career goals. The General Physics track focuses on advanced topics like Quantum Mechanics and Mathematical Physics, complemented by technical electives. The Pre-Medical Physics track integrates biology and chemistry courses such as Cell and Organismal Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, and Organic Chemistry, preparing students for medical or healthcare-related paths. The Computational Physics track blends physics with computer science, including programming and systems courses, equipping students for careers in simulation, data analysis, and technology. Beyond these tracks, the program requires additional coursework in general chemistry, introductory programming, and advanced mathematics, including Calculus I, II, and III, Linear Algebra, and Differential Equations.
