COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Science in Industrial/Organizational Psychology requires a total of 30 units and is designed to develop advanced knowledge, research skills, and practical experience in workplace psychology. The program includes 15 units of core courses, covering key areas such as research design and psychometrics, fieldwork experience in industrial/organizational settings, seminars in I/O psychology and personnel psychology (with the I/O seminar fulfilling the GWAR requirement), and advanced statistical analysis through multivariate methods. These courses provide a strong foundation in understanding employee behavior, organizational processes, and data-driven decision-making. Students also complete 9 units of electives approved by a department advisor, allowing them to tailor their studies to specific interests such as human resources, leadership, or organizational development. The culminating experience accounts for 6 units and can be completed through either a special problems project or a master’s thesis, enabling students to apply their knowledge to real-world organizational issues or research topics. Overall, the program integrates theory, research, and applied practice to prepare graduates for professional roles in organizations, consulting, or further doctoral study in psychology.
