COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science in Economics is a 120-unit, quantitatively focused program that develops strong analytical, mathematical, and data-driven skills for understanding economic theory and real-world market behavior. Students complete foundational preparation in statistics and calculus with a minimum grade requirement before progressing to core courses such as microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics, mathematical methods for economics, and economic writing and research, all requiring at least a “C-” grade or better. The program emphasizes rigorous training in data analysis and modeling through advanced econometrics and mathematical economics, preparing students to interpret complex economic systems. Upper-division electives allow specialization in areas such as data analytics, with options to take applied economics and econometrics courses or pursue broader 100-level electives, while also encouraging interdisciplinary learning through a university minor or elective coursework.
