COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science in Climate Science is an interdisciplinary program designed to prepare students for careers and advanced study in climate change, sustainability, and environmental systems. Offered by the Department of Meteorology and Climate Science, the program builds a strong scientific foundation through coursework in biology, chemistry, mathematics, and physics, combined with specialized training in meteorology, climate dynamics, and environmental science. Students begin with core preparation in subjects such as calculus, general chemistry, and physics, which support their understanding of atmospheric and Earth systems. The major curriculum then expands into advanced topics including global warming science, atmospheric processes, climatology, the global carbon cycle, air pollution, and sustainable energy strategies. A significant focus is placed on data analysis, programming, and statistical methods to equip students with the technical skills needed to interpret climate data and model environmental changes. Courses such as climate modeling, meteorological instrumentation, and applied statistics help students develop practical expertise in scientific research and analysis. In addition, the program emphasizes the relationship between science, policy, and society through courses in environmental issues, energy systems, environmental economics, and climate-related decision-making.
