COURSE CURRICULUM

The Entrepreneurship concentration, offered by the School of Global Innovation and Leadership, is designed for students who are driven by innovation and interested in creating new ventures or leading innovation within established organizations. The program prepares students to become entrepreneurs or corporate innovators by developing skills in opportunity recognition, business creation, and strategic decision-making. It emphasizes a global perspective on entrepreneurship and helps students understand how businesses operate across diverse markets influenced by globalization, technological advancement, and evolving customer needs. The curriculum integrates key management principles across multiple business functions, including finance, marketing, operations, and organizational behavior, providing a well-rounded foundation for launching and managing successful ventures. Students are trained to think creatively while also applying structured business methods to evaluate risks, develop business models, and implement sustainable strategies. The program also highlights the importance of adaptability and change management in rapidly shifting business environments, encouraging students to respond effectively to competition and innovation-driven markets. Graduates of the concentration are prepared for careers as startup founders, small business owners, product managers, innovation consultants, or intrapreneurs within larger corporations. Major-specific graduation requirements ensure that students complete all concentration courses with a grade of “C- or better,” along with foundational coursework in writing, mathematics, accounting, and statistics.
