COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Science in Health and Well-Being Management is a 33-credit graduate program designed to prepare students for careers in health promotion, wellness program leadership, and applied health research. The program focuses on improving individual and community well-being by integrating nutrition, behavioral science, population health, and health policy into practical and evidence-based interventions. It is suitable for students interested in working in corporate wellness programs, healthcare organizations, government agencies, or pursuing further doctoral or professional studies in health-related fields.The curriculum is structured over one year of intensive study across three terms. In the first semester, students take core courses in research methods in health and well-being and health and nutrition education and evaluation. They also select electives from areas such as health care economics and policy or other approved emphasis tracks, along with a required statistics course in biostatistics, applied statistics, or graduate-level statistics.In the spring semester, students build advanced skills in dissemination and implementation science for health and well-being, which focuses on translating research into real-world health programs. They also complete a range of professional electives that allow specialization in areas such as population health, risk identification, and health management strategies.The summer term is dedicated to a culminating experience in the form of either a project or a thesis. Students choose between completing a health and well-being management project with additional elective coursework or a research-focused thesis option. This allows students to apply their learning to real-world health challenges or conduct deeper academic research in the field.Overall, the program emphasizes research methods, program evaluation, policy understanding, and practical application of health promotion strategies. Graduates develop the ability to design, implement, and evaluate health and wellness programs that improve population health outcomes and organizational productivity across diverse settings.
