COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Science in Computer Engineering (Project Option) at Rochester Institute of Technology is a 30-credit program designed to provide a strong balance of core knowledge, specialization, and hands-on project experience over two years. In the first year, the fall semester begins with Analytical Topics in Computer Engineering, which builds a solid theoretical foundation, along with a graduate seminar that exposes students to current research and developments in the field. Students also complete a flexible core course and a graduate elective, allowing them to start tailoring their studies based on their interests. In the spring semester, students continue with another flexible core course and two additional electives, further strengthening their technical expertise in areas such as computer architecture, embedded systems, networks, or machine intelligence.In the second year, the curriculum focuses more on specialization and practical application. During the fall semester, students take a project-focused elective along with two additional graduate electives, deepening their knowledge in their chosen area of interest. This structure ensures that students gain both breadth and depth across key domains of computer engineering.
