COURSE CURRICULUM

The Sociology and Anthropology BS curriculum at Rochester Institute of Technology for 2025–2026 is a 120-credit, four-year program that blends the study of society and culture with flexible academic pathways. In the first year, students are introduced to foundational concepts through courses like Foundations of Sociology or Cultural Anthropology, while also completing general education requirements in writing, ethics, arts, and quantitative skills. This stage builds a strong base for understanding human behavior, culture, and social systems.In the second year, students begin to focus more on their chosen specialization through multiple SOCANT track courses, alongside their first methods course, which introduces research techniques used in sociology and anthropology.
