COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science in Global Business Management at Rochester Institute of Technology is a 123-credit program designed to prepare students for leadership roles in international business through a strong foundation in management, economics, analytics, and global strategy. In the first year, students study core business fundamentals such as financial and management accounting, microeconomics and macroeconomics, information systems, business communication, applied calculus, and statistics, while also completing writing and general education requirements. This stage builds essential analytical and communication skills for business decision-making.In the second year, students expand their knowledge with courses in marketing, organizational behavior, financial management, data analytics, and business ethics, along with electives in global business. These courses help students understand how organizations operate and compete in a global environment while developing teamwork and communication skills.During the third year, the curriculum focuses on advanced management and leadership topics such as project management, operations management, cross-cultural and virtual team leadership, human resources development, and negotiation. Students also complete general education immersion courses that broaden their interdisciplinary understanding. A cooperative education (co-op) experience in management or international business provides real-world industry exposure.In the fourth year, students take advanced courses in global competition and strategic management, along with additional electives in global business and general education. Open electives allow for further specialization or exploration of other interests.Overall, the program integrates business theory, leadership development, and global experience, preparing graduates for careers in international management, consulting, operations, entrepreneurship, and global business strategy.
