COURSE CURRICULUM

The M.S. in Supply Chain Management at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute requires students to complete a comprehensive curriculum combining business fundamentals, supply chain expertise, and professional development. The program’s Business Core consists of six courses totaling 18 credits, including Foundations of Data Science, Managing Digitization and Transformation, Introduction to Accounting and Financial Management, Operations and Supply Chain Management, a Business Capstone (or MGMT 6840 for spring admits), and Introduction to Machine Learning Applications. These courses equip students with critical analytical, financial, and technological skills necessary for modern supply chain leadership. The Supply Chain Core, comprising three courses for 9 credits, focuses on Networks and Value Creation, Supply Chain Analytics, and Modeling and Optimization, providing technical and strategic tools for designing and managing complex supply chains. Students also select one specialized elective (3 credits) from an evolving list, including options such as Facilities Design and Industrial Logistics, Design of Manufacturing System Supply Chains, Advanced Systems Analysis and Design, Global Sourcing and Procurement, or Advanced Topics in Supply Chain Management, allowing customization to individual career goals. Additionally, all students participate in two Professional Development and Career Workshops, MGMT 7770 and MGMT 7780, which are designed to enhance leadership, teamwork, and career readiness skills. This integrated approach ensures graduates are prepared to leverage analytics, technology, and strategic thinking in global supply chain management.
