COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Science in Semiconductor Technology requires students to complete a total of 30 approved graduate credits, combining core coursework, interdisciplinary electives, and optional project or independent study credits to provide both depth and flexibility in the field. At least 18 of the 30 credits must be at the 6000-level, while up to 12 credits may be taken at the 4000-level, with co-listed courses requiring enrollment in the 6000-level version. The program includes six credits from common core semiconductor courses and a minimum of six credits from specialized core courses, ensuring students gain a solid foundation in semiconductor devices, circuits, systems design, and power electronics. In addition, students must complete 6 to 18 credits of interdisciplinary courses, allowing them to explore advanced topics across engineering and scientific disciplines relevant to semiconductor technology. Optional components include up to six credits for a master’s project, up to six transfer credits, and up to three credits of Independent Study, providing flexibility to tailor the program to individual interests and professional goals. Courses at the 1000- or 2000-level are not eligible for credit toward the degree. Students lacking sufficient preparation in their chosen specialization may also be required to take additional background courses beyond the standard 30-credit requirement, ensuring they have the foundational knowledge needed to succeed in advanced semiconductor coursework and professional applications.
