COURSE CURRICULUM

Students enrolled in the Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) in Industrial and Management Engineering (IME) program are required to complete a minimum of 21 credit hours of graduate-level courses approved by the Graduate Program Director (GPD) and designated with an ISYE prefix, ensuring focused training in core industrial and systems engineering principles. In addition, students must complete two or more courses and/or a master’s project within an adviser-approved, application-focused track, contributing 6 to 9 credit hours toward the degree. This track allows students to tailor their program to specific professional or industry-oriented interests, providing practical experience and specialized knowledge relevant to real-world engineering challenges. If additional credits are required to reach the 30-credit minimum for the M.Eng. degree, students may select adviser-approved free electives from any department within the Institute, offering flexibility to broaden their technical expertise or explore interdisciplinary topics. This structure balances rigorous, program-specific coursework with individualized, application-focused learning opportunities, equipping graduates with the analytical, managerial, and problem-solving skills necessary to excel in professional engineering roles. By combining foundational ISYE courses, specialized track components, and optional electives, the M.Eng. in IME prepares students for immediate entry into industry, consulting, or applied research positions while allowing for customization to align with career goals and emerging trends in industrial and systems engineering.
