COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) in Chemical Engineering is designed for students holding an accredited B.S. degree in chemical engineering and emphasizes advanced coursework to enhance professional and technical expertise. The program requires completion of 30 credit hours, including 21 credits of electives and 9 credits of core courses. The core curriculum consists of CHME 6510 – Advanced Transport Phenomena I (3 credits), CHME 6570 – Chemical and Phase Equilibrium (3 credits), and CHME 6610 – Mathematical Methods in Chemical Engineering I (3 credits). Among the electives, at least two courses must be within the chemical engineering discipline, while at least two must be taken outside of it, ensuring interdisciplinary breadth and depth of knowledge. A distinctive feature of this program is the flexibility it offers students to specialize in one of several subspecialties within chemical engineering. Concentration areas include, but are not limited to, biological engineering, process systems engineering, materials engineering, and polymer engineering. Through this combination of advanced coursework and specialized study, the M.Eng. program equips graduates with the analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills necessary to address complex engineering challenges and assume leadership roles in industry, research, or applied technology development.
