COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Science in Computer Science program at Post University is a 33-credit graduate program, with students completing 36 credits if MCS 500, Foundations of Computer Science, is required. The program includes 18 credits of core coursework designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of advanced computing topics, including theoretical computer science and its applications, advanced cryptography, algorithms, artificial intelligence, operating systems management, and cybersecurity foundations and practices. Students also complete 12 credits of concentration courses, such as the Cybersecurity and Secure Software Systems concentration, which focuses on developing expertise in securing digital environments, designing robust software, and implementing ethical cybersecurity practices. Concentration coursework includes Fundamentals of Software Engineering, Hardware and Software System Security, Ethics in AI and Cybersecurity, and Data Acquisition and Management, preparing students to protect systems, manage sensitive data, and respond effectively to cyber threats. The program culminates in a 3-credit capstone course, MCS 600, which emphasizes real-world problem solving and allows students to integrate theoretical knowledge with practical applications.
