COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a Concentration in Healthcare Systems Leadership requires a total of 39 credits, including a 3-credit foundation course, 21 credits of core courses, 12 credits in the Healthcare Systems Leadership concentration, and a 3-credit capstone experience. The foundation course, BUS 502 – Foundations in Business, provides essential business knowledge, while the core courses develop key managerial skills in leadership and change (BUS 503), analytics and decision-making (BUS 509), organizational dynamics (BUS 515), corporate finance for managers (BUS 522), strategic marketing (BUS 524), strategy and operations (BUS 528), and project management (BUS 530). The Healthcare Systems Leadership concentration focuses on the unique challenges of the healthcare sector, covering healthcare decisions, analytics, and systems performance (BUS 609), managing community and population health (BUS 613), healthcare quality, performance, and financial management (BUS 630), and emerging topics in business (BUS 640). Students may substitute one concentration course with BUS 697 – Internship, with approval from the Academic Department. The program culminates with BUS 695 – Capstone Experience, allowing students to apply their knowledge and skills to real-world healthcare leadership and management challenges. This MBA prepares graduates to lead healthcare organizations effectively, integrate clinical, financial, and technological components, and drive innovation and quality improvement in complex healthcare systems.
