COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Arts in Psychology program at Post University comprises 120 required credits, structured to provide a strong liberal arts foundation alongside comprehensive training in psychological theory and practice. The general education component includes 63 credits, featuring common core courses such as College Writing, Literature and Composition, Introduction to Communication, and Digital Skills for College and Career. Liberal arts requirements span ethics, social sciences, fine arts, and math, including Statistics and College Algebra, as well as a science component with Concepts of Biology. Students complete 18 open elective credits, allowing for customization and exploration of interests. The psychology major core consists of 33 credits covering key areas such as developmental psychology, multicultural psychology, social psychology, learning theory, neuropsychology, personality theories, abnormal psychology, and research methods. A designated writing course in behavioral sciences and a capstone course are also required. Students choose one of three concentrations—Applied Behavior Analysis, Human Development/Education/Health, or Industrial/Organizational Studies—each requiring 12 credits. Concentrations provide specialized courses such as Child Development, Educational Psychology, Organizational Behavior, and Advanced Concepts in Applied Behavior Analysis. Additionally, students may explore electives such as Forensic Psychology, Language Development, Psychological Testing, and internship opportunities. The program also includes a 6-credit College to Career Core aimed at enhancing academic and professional readiness.
