COURSE CURRICULUM

The Associate of Science in Early Childhood Education program at Post University is a 60-credit degree designed to prepare students for professional roles in early learning environments by combining foundational education courses with hands-on experience. The curriculum includes 27 general education credits that strengthen communication, digital literacy, and analytical skills through courses such as College Writing, Literature and Composition, Introduction to Communication, and Digital Skills for College and Career, along with electives in humanities, social sciences, math, and science. The 30-credit major core focuses on essential topics in child development and early education, including Essentials of Early Childhood Studies, Foundations of Early Childhood Education, Children’s Literature and Language Arts, Teaching Exceptional Learners, and Health, Safety, and Nutrition. Courses such as Fostering the Development of Infants and Toddlers and Home, School, and Community emphasize culturally responsive and family-centered approaches. Two practicum experiences, Early Childhood Practicum I and II, allow students to apply theory in real-world educational settings. The program also includes the College Success Seminar to enhance academic and career readiness. Graduates are well-prepared to meet professional standards set by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and pursue careers or further study in early childhood education.
