COURSE CURRICULUM

The Associate of Science in Criminal Justice program at Post University requires a total of 60 credits and provides students with a strong academic and practical foundation in the principles of criminal justice. The curriculum includes 24 general education credits that develop essential communication, analytical, and digital skills through courses such as College Writing, Literature and Composition, Introduction to Communication, and Digital Skills for College and Career. Students also complete humanities, social science, math, and forensic science courses to build critical thinking and scientific reasoning skills relevant to justice studies. The 33-credit major core explores key areas of the criminal justice system, including Introduction to Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Corrections or Security, Crime and American Society, Juvenile Justice, Criminal Law, and Criminal Investigation. Advanced coursework at the 200 level or higher deepens students’ understanding of justice theory and practice, with electives allowing for specialized study. Students also take the College Success Seminar to prepare for professional development and career readiness. While emphasizing effective communication, ethical reasoning, and analytical decision-making, this program equips graduates for entry-level positions in criminal justice or for further education toward a bachelor’s degree, providing a well-rounded foundation for careers in law enforcement, corrections, or public safety.
