COURSE CURRICULUM

The Associate of Science in Accounting degree at Post University requires a total of 60 credits, combining general education, business, and accounting-specific coursework to build a solid foundation in financial and managerial accounting principles. The program includes 27 general education credits covering communication, mathematics, science, liberal arts, and digital literacy. Core courses such as College Writing, Literature and Composition, Introduction to Communication, and Digital Skills for College and Career develop essential analytical and communication abilities. Students also complete Business Law, College Algebra, and science electives to broaden their academic background. The 30-credit major and business core focus on fundamental business disciplines, including Financial Accounting, Principles of Finance, Principles of Management, Principles of Marketing, Macroeconomics, and Baldrige Principles and Introduction to Quality Standards. Within the major core, students advance their technical accounting skills through courses such as Managerial Accounting, Spreadsheet and General Ledger Software, and additional accounting electives at the 100 level or higher. The curriculum culminates with the College Success Seminar, a course designed to help students transition effectively from college to career. Collectively, the program equips students with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills needed for entry-level roles in accounting and finance or for further study in related business fields.
