COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master’s in Social Entrepreneurship is a two-year, cohort-based program structured to develop leaders who can design, launch, and manage initiatives that address complex social challenges through innovative and sustainable solutions. The curriculum combines leadership development, ethical decision-making, global awareness, and practical venture-building skills to prepare students for impactful roles in nonprofit, public, and mission-driven private sector organizations. In the first year, students begin with foundational coursework in leadership, service, and social entrepreneurship, establishing core competencies in understanding social problems and designing value-driven solutions. They then progress into courses focused on ethical leadership, equity, cultural proficiency, and social justice, along with strategic vision development for leading change initiatives. The summer term emphasizes global perspectives through coursework on globalization and social change, paired with an immersive global change experience that exposes students to international development contexts, as well as a contemporary topics course addressing emerging technologies in social entrepreneurship. In the second year, the program shifts toward applied practice, focusing on mobilizing diverse stakeholder groups within the citizen sector and developing skills in marketing and public relations for social change initiatives. Students also engage in a structured capstone experience across two semesters, where they apply their learning to real-world projects. Additional advanced coursework covers program design, impact evaluation, and philanthropic management, ensuring graduates are prepared to assess outcomes and lead sustainable organizations effectively. Overall, the program integrates academic learning with experiential practice to equip students with the strategic, analytical, and leadership capabilities needed to create measurable and lasting social impact in communities locally and globally.
