The Master of Science in Business Analytics curriculum at the DeVos Graduate School equips students with the technical and analytical skills necessary to thrive in a data-driven business environment. The program begins with an Introduction to Data Analytics, where students explore the scientific method, probability, sampling techniques, descriptive statistics, and linear regression. This foundation enables them to analyze and interpret data effectively. In Programming and Computation, students learn Python and develop computational problem-solving skills for collecting, managing, and analyzing data. Data Management, Organization, and Visualization introduces essential practices for storing and maintaining data while teaching students how to create impactful visualizations to uncover patterns and trends.The Relational Database Management for Leaders course offers a deep dive into database design, including the relational model, SQL, and entity relationship diagrams, empowering students to extract business intelligence from organizational data systems. Artificial Intelligence and Business Analytics explores real-world applications of AI such as machine learning, natural language processing, and recommendation engines, emphasizing their impact on business strategy. Forecasting and Predictive Analytics trains students to apply machine learning and data mining techniques to predict trends and outcomes, helping inform strategic decisions.In Solving Business Problems with Machine Learning, students gain hands-on experience with the R programming language and explore key topics like regression, classification, clustering, and scalable solutions. The program concludes with the MSBA Directed Capstone, an independent research project that allows students to apply their knowledge to a specific business problem, integrating the full spectrum of analytical skills acquired throughout the program. The capstone demonstrates mastery of business analytics and serves as a tangible representation of each student’s readiness to lead in a modern, data-centric business world.
