COURSE CURRICULUM

The Applied Management program at Northwood University provides a well-rounded curriculum designed to build leadership and organizational skills for individuals transitioning into management roles. The Northwood Idea Core adds an understanding of the philosophical and policy-related aspects of business through courses such as Economics of Public Policies and Philosophy of American Enterprise.The Major Core (15 credit hours) focuses on applied management skills, including Human Resource Management and Operations Management, with elective options in leadership, international management, IT management, strategic risk, innovation, logistics, and ERP applications. Some key management courses like Principles of Management, Organizational Behavior, and Strategic Planning count toward both the Common Professional Core and the Major Core.Students can also apply up to 40 semester hours of technical or specialized elective credits, making this program especially suitable for those who have prior experience or education in a technical field. Intro to American Government is a recommended elective.
