The Hospitality Management program at NU offers a well-rounded and practical curriculum designed to prepare students for diverse leadership roles in the hospitality industry. From the very first semester, students dive into core hospitality concepts through an introductory course, while also building foundational business and communication skills through courses in management, composition, software tools, and philosophy. In the spring, they continue with microeconomics, marketing, and sanitation—an essential aspect of food service management—while strengthening their writing and personal branding skills.Sophomore year brings a deeper focus on the operational side of hospitality, with courses in food and beverage management, facilities operations, and both financial and managerial accounting. Students also study macroeconomics, leadership, and global history, offering both practical and cultural perspectives. The junior year shifts toward specialized areas, such as special events and meeting planning, resort and club management, business law, and public speaking. Statistical analysis and ethics further enhance their analytical and decision-making capabilities. A required internship provides hands-on industry experience, allowing students to apply classroom knowledge in real-world settings.In the senior year, students explore advanced topics in hospitality, including cost control, budgeting, and human resource applications. Courses in organizational behavior and electives in psychology, sociology, or the humanities ensure a broader understanding of people and workplace dynamics.
