COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Science in Data Analytics at Northwest Missouri State University requires the completion of 30 credit hours of coursework. The program begins with foundational courses such as Data Analytics Fundamentals and Practical Evaluation of Data, which provide essential skills for analyzing, interpreting, and managing data. Students then advance to courses in Data Visualization, Web Mining and Applied Natural Language Processing, and Continuous Intelligence and Interactive Analytics, learning to extract insights from diverse data sources and communicate findings effectively. Business Intelligence and Analytics and Databases for Analytics courses focus on integrating data-driven solutions into organizational processes and managing both relational and non-relational databases. The curriculum also emphasizes advanced technical skills through Applied Machine Learning and Streaming Data courses, preparing students to work with real-time data and predictive modeling. To culminate the program, students complete the Data Analytics Capstone Project, which allows them to apply the full range of knowledge and technical skills acquired in a comprehensive, real-world project. Through this curriculum, graduates develop proficiency in handling large datasets, selecting appropriate analytic tools, and presenting data-driven insights to support informed decision-making, equipping them to contribute as data analysts, technical specialists, or consultants across industries.
