COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Media with a journalism emphasis at Northwest Missouri State University is a four-year program designed to develop strong communication and agricultural knowledge. In the first year, students focus on foundational courses such as composition, oral communication, animal science, and introductory media production, along with digital literacy and crop production. These courses help build essential writing, speaking, and technical media skills. The second year introduces more specialized subjects, including media design, agricultural economics, and professional media writing, along with general education courses in humanities, mathematics, and social sciences. Students also begin exploring communication theory and social media strategies while gaining practical experience through media practicum courses.In the third year, the program emphasizes advanced communication and industry-specific knowledge.
