COURSE CURRICULUM

The BS in Accounting program requires students to complete 75 credits across a comprehensive curriculum that integrates business fundamentals, specialized accounting coursework, and essential supporting subjects. Students begin with core business courses such as business law, strategic communication, finance, operations management, marketing, and management. These courses ensure that students gain a strong foundation in how businesses function across various departments.In the finance component, students must choose one elective from topics like corporate finance, investments, financial technology, international financial management, securities, or blockchain and cryptoassets, allowing for customization based on their interests and career goals. The heart of the program lies in the required accounting courses, where students study both fundamental and advanced topics. These include financial and managerial accounting, intermediate and advanced accounting, cost accounting, taxation for individuals and businesses, accounting information systems, corporate controllership, and auditing theory and practice. Courses like contemporary issues and senior seminar in accounting emphasize real-world applications and ethical considerations in the profession.Supporting the accounting and business coursework are collateral courses in applied macroeconomics and microeconomics, spreadsheet modeling, and statistical methods for business. These provide students with essential analytical and quantitative skills. This program is designed to thoroughly prepare students for accounting careers and certification exams, including the CPA, while offering broad exposure to financial decision-making, strategic communication, and digital tools relevant in today’s accounting field.
