COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Science in Project Management curriculum at Metropolitan College of New York is structured across three purpose-based semesters, each carrying 12 credits, for a total of 36 credits. The program is designed to provide a progressive learning experience that integrates theory, technical skills, and real-world application through the Constructive Action (CA) model. In the first semester, students focus on Strategic Project Research and Analysis, where they learn to conduct research, assess project feasibility, and analyze industry trends. Core subjects include Principles of Project Management, which introduces project life cycle concepts and methodologies aligned with industry standards, Project Scope Management, which focuses on defining and controlling project boundaries, and Project Communications Management, which develops essential communication and stakeholder management skills.In the second semester, the emphasis shifts to Strategic Project Planning and Analysis, where students build on their research to design comprehensive project plans. They study Project Resource Management, Project Cost Management, and Planning and Scheduling, gaining expertise in allocating resources, budgeting, and organizing timelines effectively. This stage strengthens students’ ability to translate ideas into structured and actionable plans while considering constraints and project requirements.The final semester focuses on Strategic Project Implementation, where students apply their knowledge to execute and evaluate projects. Courses include Procurement and Supply Chain Management with legal aspects, Project Risk and Quality Management, and Ethics in Project Management. Through the final Constructive Action project, students implement their project plans, assess outcomes, and refine strategies based on real-world challenges. Overall, the curriculum provides a comprehensive and hands-on approach, equipping graduates with advanced skills in research, planning, execution, and leadership necessary for successful project management careers across industries.
