COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science in Finance program provides a comprehensive curriculum designed to develop strong analytical, technical, and business skills required in the financial industry. The program begins with a Technical and Analytical Foundation of 21–22 credits, including courses such as financial and managerial accounting, microeconomics and macroeconomics, data modeling, calculus, and statistics. These courses equip students with essential quantitative and analytical tools necessary for understanding financial concepts and decision-making processes.In addition, the program emphasizes the connection between finance and broader business functions through 18 credits of business courses. Subjects like organizational behavior, marketing, operations management, business law, and business and society help students understand how financial decisions interact with different areas of an organization and the external environment.The Finance Core, consisting of 15 credits, focuses on key areas such as financial management, investment analysis, corporate finance, financial statement analysis, and financial markets and institutions. To further deepen their expertise, students are required to complete 12 credits of finance electives, choosing four courses from a wide range of options such as financial modeling, risk management, mergers and acquisitions, behavioral finance, and investment practicum courses. This flexibility allows students to specialize according to their career interests.The program also includes a 3-credit integrative capping course, which develops strategic decision-making skills by applying finance knowledge in real-world business contexts. Overall, students complete 69–70 credits in the major, along with 37 credits in Core/Liberal Studies and additional electives. Internship opportunities are strongly encouraged, along with options to pursue minors or double majors, ensuring graduates are well-prepared for diverse careers in finance and related fields.
