COURSE CURRICULUM

The Computer Science program provides a comprehensive and structured curriculum designed to build strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills. The foundation of the program consists of 57 credits, covering essential areas such as programming, software development, systems analysis, networking, databases, system design, computer architecture, and algorithm analysis. Students also complete a two-part capstone project, which allows them to apply their knowledge to real-world computing problems and demonstrate their ability to design and implement complex systems.In addition to core computer science courses, students complete related field requirements, including introductory business knowledge, statistics, discrete mathematics, and calculus. These courses strengthen analytical thinking and provide a broader understanding of how computing integrates with business and quantitative problem-solving.The program offers concentrations that allow students to specialize in specific areas. For example, the Game Design and Programming concentration focuses on game development, physics, and advanced topics like artificial intelligence or computer graphics. The Software Development concentration emphasizes operating systems, programming languages, and advanced computing topics, with flexibility to choose from a range of upper-level electives such as robotics, distributed systems, or e-commerce development.Overall, students complete 68–72 credits in the major, along with 37–40 credits in Core/Liberal Studies, including foundational courses, humanities, and social sciences. Additional electives or internships provide further flexibility and practical experience. This balanced curriculum ensures graduates are well-prepared for careers in software development, technology, and advanced computing fields, or for further study in computer science.
