COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science in Accounting program provides a comprehensive and structured curriculum designed to equip students with strong technical, analytical, and professional skills. The Accounting Core, consisting of 24 credits, focuses on an in-depth understanding of the accountant’s responsibilities, including financial accounting theory, generally accepted accounting principles, auditing standards, and tax laws. Courses such as Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Intermediate Accounting I and II, Accounting Information Systems, Advanced Accounting, Auditing, and Introduction to Taxation ensure students develop a solid foundation in both theoretical and practical aspects of accounting.In addition to core accounting knowledge, the program emphasizes the connection between accounting and broader business functions through 30 credits in business-related studies. Required courses such as Organizational Behavior, Financial Management, Marketing Principles, Legal Foundation of Business, Operations Management, and Technology for Business Management help students understand how accounting interacts with various areas of business. Students aiming for professional certifications like the CPA are encouraged to take additional elective accounting courses such as Cost Accounting, Fraud Examination, or Financial Statement Analysis to deepen their expertise.The program also includes an Integrative Capping Course, which enhances students’ ability to apply accounting principles to complex, real-world situations, evaluate information for decision-making, and commit to continuous professional development. Furthermore, a Technical and Analytical Foundation of 15 credits, including Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Calculus, Statistics, and Data Modeling, supports the development of essential quantitative and analytical skills.To graduate, students must complete a total of 120 credits, including 60–61 credits in the major, 37 credits in Core/Liberal Studies, and additional electives. This balanced curriculum ensures graduates are well-prepared for careers in accounting as well as advanced academic pursuits, while also fostering critical thinking, interdisciplinary knowledge, and adaptability in a dynamic business environment.
