COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Professional Studies (BPS) in Fashion Merchandising at LIM College prepares students for diverse careers in the fashion and related industries through a career-focused curriculum that blends core business knowledge, liberal arts, and specialized industry training. With a total of 121 to 122 credits, the program is structured to offer a comprehensive educational experience that balances theoretical understanding with real-world application. The curriculum begins with foundational courses such as Introduction to the Fashion Business, Marketing, Business Spreadsheets, and communication-focused general education classes. Students also complete 13 credits of career education and internships, including a senior co-op experience designed to launch their careers with hands-on industry exposure.Business core courses in accounting, economics, management, and business law equip students with critical skills applicable across industries. The fashion merchandising major requirements span 30 credits and include specialized topics such as global and omni retailing, fabric knowledge, digital presentation tools, sustainability in fashion, merchandising concepts, product development, product lifecycle management, and visual communication. The program culminates in a senior capstone project, providing students with an opportunity to demonstrate their acquired knowledge through a real-world project. Students further enrich their learning through 24 general elective credits and 15 liberal arts electives, allowing for academic exploration and customization. The BPS in Fashion Merchandising offers a strong balance of academic rigor, practical experience, and industry-relevant coursework, all aimed at preparing students for success in the fashion business landscape.
