COURSE CURRICULUM

The Business of Fashion at LIM College is designed specifically for transfer students with at least 60 college credits, providing an opportunity to focus their education on fashion, business, and experiential learning. This program is ideal for students who have not previously studied fashion merchandising and serves as a strong foundation for those interested in pursuing graduate studies. The degree can be completed either face-to-face or fully online, offering flexibility to students. The curriculum requires a total of 122 credits, including 33 liberal arts credits. Students complete core courses such as Introduction to the Fashion Business, Marketing, and Business Spreadsheets. General education requirements include English composition and statistics, with electives tailored to individual interests. Career education is emphasized through internship preparation, multiple internship opportunities, and a senior co-op experience totaling 11 credits. The business core covers accounting and economics, while the major requires 27 credits focused on key fashion business areas, including retailing, digital tools for fashion presentations, fabric knowledge, sustainability, merchandising concepts, product development, and product lifecycle management. Students culminate their studies with a six-credit senior capstone course. Additionally, the program includes 18 liberal arts electives from diverse disciplines such as arts, communications, economics, history, philosophy, and sociology, providing a well-rounded education. General electives also make up a significant portion of the curriculum, allowing students to explore other interests or deepen their knowledge in related areas. This comprehensive approach equips graduates with the skills, knowledge, and practical experience needed to excel in the dynamic global fashion industry.
