COURSE CURRICULUM

The LIM College Associate in Occupational Studies (AOS) in Fashion Merchandising program combines a comprehensive set of core, general education, business, major, and elective courses to equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary for success in the fashion industry. The program begins with a 10-credit core curriculum that includes courses such as Introduction to the Fashion Business, College Success, Business Spreadsheets, and Marketing, providing foundational skills in communication, technology, and business principles. General education requirements, totaling 12 credits, cover English composition, communication, critical thinking, and statistics, ensuring students develop strong analytical, writing, and reasoning abilities. Career education and internship preparation, spanning 4 credits, include courses like Internship Prep and Internship 1, emphasizing practical experience and professional development. The 6-credit business core provides students with accounting and management skills applicable to the fashion industry. Major-specific coursework, totaling 15 credits, includes Retailing: Global and Omni, Fabric for Fashion, Merchandising Concepts and Practices, Visual Communication, and Sustainability and the Future of Fashion, offering students an in-depth understanding of merchandising, design, sustainability, and visual storytelling. Additionally, 15 credits of general electives allow students to explore other areas of interest and further customize their education.
