COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence (MSAI) curriculum at Lawrence Technological University is a 30-credit-hour program designed to provide both strong theoretical foundations and practical expertise in AI. Students can choose between two pathways: a coursework-only option or a coursework with thesis option. In the coursework-only track, students complete 18 credit hours of core courses, a 3-credit graduate project, and 9 credit hours in a chosen specialization. In the thesis track, students complete 21 credit hours of coursework along with a 9-credit thesis, which involves proposing a research topic, working under a faculty advisor, and successfully defending the thesis before a committee. This option also requires students to publish at least one conference or journal paper, making it ideal for those interested in research or further academic study.The core curriculum covers essential areas of artificial intelligence and computer science, including Software Development for AI, Machine Learning and Pattern Recognition, Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning, Digital Signal Processing, Algorithm Design, and Theory of Computation. These courses ensure students gain a strong understanding of both the theoretical and practical aspects of AI systems. In addition, the graduate project allows students to apply their knowledge to real-world problems by developing functional AI solutions. Students can further specialize in one of four areas: Robotics and Sensors, Connected Vehicles, Data Science, or Cybersecurity. Each specialization offers focused courses such as Intelligent Robotics, Computer Vision, Neural Networks, Text Mining, and Network Security, allowing students to tailor their education to specific career goals. Overall, the curriculum combines advanced technical training, research opportunities, and industry-relevant skills, preparing graduates for high-demand roles in artificial intelligence and related fields.
