The Master of Science in Information Technology curriculum at Lawrence Technological University is designed to provide a comprehensive foundation in both technology and management, preparing students to lead IT initiatives and make data-driven decisions in any organization. The program begins with foundational courses, including Statistics for Data Analytics and Visualization and Management Information Systems, which equip students with the analytical and technical skills necessary to understand, interpret, and leverage data effectively in business and technology contexts. These courses lay the groundwork for advanced learning and practical application in core IT disciplines.Core courses total 21 credits and cover key areas such as Python for Data Analysis and Visualization, Database Management Systems, Systems Analysis and Design, Advanced Computer Networking, Cybersecurity, Data Science for Business, and Project Management. These courses combine hands-on technical training with managerial insights, enabling students to develop robust IT systems, analyze complex datasets, secure organizational information, and manage IT projects efficiently. The curriculum emphasizes practical problem-solving, real-world application, and the development of leadership skills essential for today’s technology-driven workplace.Students can further tailor their education through 9 credits of concentration electives in three focus areas: Business Data Analytics, Cybersecurity, or Project Management. Business Data Analytics electives include courses like Business Analytics and Intelligence, Visual Analytics, and Data Mining Algorithms, which prepare students to translate data into actionable business insights. Cybersecurity electives such as Cyber Law, Policy and Ethics, Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity, and Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing provide specialized skills to protect digital infrastructure.
