COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science in Psychology curriculum is a well-structured four-year program designed to build a strong foundation in human behavior, biological sciences, and research methods while allowing students to specialize in their areas of interest. In the first year, students begin with introductory courses such as Introduction to Psychology, Biology with lab work, and mathematics, along with College Composition. In the spring semester, they continue with Biology II and lab, Technical and Professional Communication, and psychology-focused subjects like World of the Mind and Human Sexuality, supported by humanities courses that enhance critical thinking. The second year focuses on developing analytical and research skills through courses such as Statistics, Developmental Psychology, and Research Methods. Students also gain practical experience in Experimental Psychology Lab and improve their communication skills through speech and electives.In the third year, the curriculum becomes more specialized, allowing students to explore advanced topics in psychology. They take courses such as Social Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, and choose between Media Psychology or Psychology of Language, along with multiple upper-level electives that align with their chosen concentration. General and language electives continue to provide a well-rounded education. In the fourth year, students engage in advanced and applied areas of psychology, including Animal Behavior, Behavioral Neuroscience, and Drugs and Behavior. They also study topics related to emotions and philosophy, while completing additional psychology and general electives to deepen their expertise.
