COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science in Physics curriculum is a rigorous four-year program designed to build a strong foundation in mathematics, science, and advanced physics concepts while gradually developing research and analytical skills. In the first year, students begin with fundamental courses such as Introduction to Science, College Composition, University Chemistry with lab, and Calculus I, along with Astronomy and its lab. In the spring semester, they continue with University Physics I and lab, Calculus II, and an introduction to computer science, supported by humanities courses to enhance critical thinking and communication skills. In the second year, students deepen their understanding with University Physics II and lab, Calculus III, and Computer Science I. They also study Differential Equations, Linear Algebra, Computational Physics, and Contemporary Physics with lab, which introduce modern physics concepts and computational techniques essential for scientific problem-solving.In the third year, the curriculum becomes more advanced and specialized, focusing on core physics subjects such as Analytical Mechanics, Electricity and Magnetism, and advanced mathematics courses like Advanced Calculus or Engineering Mathematics. Students also study Probability and Statistics and gain exposure to circuits and electronics, along with leadership training in scientific research. Electives allow students to broaden their academic experience. In the fourth year, students engage in highly specialized topics, including Quantum Mechanics, Thermal and Statistical Physics, Condensed Matter Physics, and Optics with lab work. A significant part of the program is the two-part Physics Project, where students conduct research and apply their knowledge to real-world or theoretical problems. Additional electives provide flexibility to explore interdisciplinary areas. Overall, the curriculum combines theoretical knowledge, laboratory work, computational skills, and research experience, preparing students for careers in research, technology, academia, or advanced studies in physics and related fields.
