COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) curriculum is a comprehensive four-year program designed to progressively build students’ knowledge, clinical skills, and professional competencies in healthcare. In the first year, students focus on foundational subjects such as Intro to Nursing, Biology, Precalculus, and College Composition, followed by courses like Health Promotion, Microbiology with lab, Chemistry, and Psychology. Humanities and social science electives are also included to strengthen communication, critical thinking, and understanding of human behavior. A summer term adds Engaging Modern Texts and an elective, ensuring steady academic progression. In the second year, students move into more specialized science and nursing-related topics, including Holistic Nursing, Anatomy and Physiology, Biochemistry, and Social Psychology. They also study healthcare policy, ethics, and statistics, while improving communication skills. Summer courses such as Assessment Across the Lifespan and Pathophysiology and Pharmacology introduce essential clinical concepts.The third year emphasizes core nursing practice and patient care. Students study Foundations of Professional Nursing Practice, Collaboration, Nutrition, and advanced topics like Pathophysiology and Pharmacology II. They also learn about Nursing Informatics, Mental Health, and Adult Patient Care, along with evidence-based practice. Summer courses focus on maternal and child health, covering care for childbearing families and pediatric patients. In the fourth year, the program prepares students for professional practice through advanced and specialized courses such as Nursing Leadership, Geriatrics, Adult Care II, and Population Health and Epidemiology. The final semester includes a Capstone Project, clinical Immersion, and courses on complex patient care and transition into professional roles. Overall, the curriculum combines scientific knowledge, hands-on clinical training, and leadership development, ensuring graduates are fully prepared to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care in diverse healthcare settings.
