COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering curriculum is carefully structured over four years to develop strong fundamentals in science, mathematics, and engineering, while gradually advancing toward specialized and practical applications. In the first year, students build a solid base with courses such as Calculus I and II, University Chemistry with lab work, and University Physics I, along with introductory engineering subjects like Fundamentals of Engineering Design Projects and Mechanical Engineering Graphics. Humanities courses are also included to enhance communication and critical thinking skills. In the second year, the focus shifts toward core engineering principles, including Statics, Mechanics of Materials, Differential Equations, and Probability and Statistics. Students also gain practical exposure through labs and design studios, while continuing advanced mathematics with Calculus III.During the third year, the program emphasizes deeper technical knowledge and system-level understanding. Students study key subjects such as Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Dynamics, Manufacturing Processes, Circuits and Electronics, and Linear Algebra. Additional courses like Measurement Systems, Kinematics and Dynamics of Machines, and Design of Machine Elements prepare students for analyzing and designing complex mechanical systems. Engineering Numerical Methods and cost analysis further strengthen problem-solving and decision-making skills. In the fourth year, students engage in advanced and specialized topics, including Heat Transfer, Mechatronics, and Mechanics and Thermal Science labs. Technical electives allow students to explore specific areas of interest within mechanical engineering. A major highlight of the program is the capstone experience through Comprehensive Projects (Comp Proj 1 and 2), where students apply their knowledge to real-world engineering challenges. Overall, the curriculum blends theoretical learning with hands-on experience, preparing graduates with the technical expertise, analytical abilities, and practical skills needed for successful careers in mechanical engineering and related industries.
