COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering Technology curriculum is structured over four years to provide students with a balanced mix of theoretical knowledge, technical skills, and practical industry experience. In the first year, students build a strong academic foundation through courses such as College Composition, Principles of Management, Precalculus, and Introductory Chemistry, followed by Calculus I and College Physics with lab work in the spring semester. Technical electives are also introduced early to give students exposure to specialized areas. In the second year, the focus shifts toward core engineering concepts and analytical tools, including Computer Aided Analysis, DC/AC Circuits, and College Physics II with lab sessions. Students also take courses in leadership and professional development along with various electives to broaden their knowledge base and soft skills.During the third year, the curriculum becomes more application-oriented, emphasizing engineering practices and industry-relevant methodologies. Students study Manufacturing Engineering Processes, Engineering Mechanics, and Technical Project Management, along with Six Sigma I and II, which highlight quality control and process improvement techniques widely used in industry. Courses such as Applied Thermal-Fluids and Applied Calculus with Differential Equations further strengthen problem-solving abilities in real-world engineering contexts. In the fourth year, students engage in advanced and specialized subjects including Engineering Design and Standards, Engineering Economic Analysis, Operations Management, Engineering Materials, and Embedded Processors. The final semester focuses heavily on practical implementation through courses like Computer Design Graphics, Lean Manufacturing, and Transducers and Instrumentation. A major highlight of the program is the Senior Project, where students apply their accumulated knowledge to solve real engineering problems, often simulating real industry scenarios. Overall, the curriculum is designed to progressively develop technical expertise, analytical thinking, and hands-on experience, preparing graduates for successful careers in mechanical and manufacturing engineering industries.
