COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with a concentration in Business Software Development at Lawrence Tech is designed to equip students with both foundational and advanced computing skills applied to business contexts. The program begins with core courses in computer science, mathematics, and composition, alongside coding club participation to build practical experience. Students progress to more specialized topics such as data structures, software engineering, computer architecture, and database systems, combined with electives in natural sciences and general studies to ensure a well-rounded education. In the third year, the curriculum emphasizes software engineering, programming languages like Java, operating systems, and applied statistical methods, preparing students to develop, test, and manage complex software systems. The final year focuses on advanced topics including computer networks, functional and comparative programming, web server programming, and ethics in computation, while students complete a two-part senior project to demonstrate their ability to design and implement business-focused software solutions.
